Acumotion
A Body in Motion...
Have a nagging pain, a pinch you can’t release, an injury that won’t heal, or physical ailment that’s keeping you sidelined? Struggling with insomnia, anxiety, digestion issues, or other internal health problems? Dan Shargorodsky of AcuMotion can help. AcuMotion’s mission is to help patients feel their best, while assisting their bodies in healing naturally and thoroughly. Dan takes a holistic and functional approach, employing a mix of traditional Chinese medicine practices—acupuncture, gua sha, cupping, and tai na massage— with western orthopedic practices, attacking the source of pain or impingement from its source. His focus is to heal your body naturally, increasing flexibility, mobility, and eliminating inflammation. A licensed acupuncturist, Dan’s background includes stretch therapy, body work, pain management, mobility training, nutrition, and personal training. AcuMotion just moved to a pristine 3-room studio at 1126 Beacon Street right below Citizens Bank in the Four Corners section in Newton.
Figurella
Wellness Studio
Figurella isn't quite an exercise studio. It's definitely not a spa. And we wouldn't call it a traditional weight loss center, either. More like a woman's body design center, Figurella's clients are toned, healthy, and achieving their personal body goals. With roots in Italy, Figurella's pristine studio, located on Union Street in Newton Centre, uses a science-based approach to eliminate fat, including diet, exercise, and restoration. Interested? There's a starter package for $99 with a private consultation and 3 sessions, with personalized workouts with a trainer, detox baths, and nutrition tips.
Hustlestop
2-for-1 manicures
What’s better than getting one Dazzle Dry manicure? Getting two for the price of one. Newton’s sustainable salon, Hustlestop, is offering a promotion that no one with nails and a friend should pass up: 2-for-1 manicures. Yep, just book your Dazzle Dry manicure on Hustlestop’s website (select “Your Friend, Our Treat”) and meet your bestie at Hustlestop. Not familiar with Hustlestop yet? It’s that cute little salon at 400 Homer Street near the library—yes, the library. It’s a full service, professionally staffed salon exclusively focused on clean beauty—using products without additives that harm the environment and aren’t great for us, either. So only “natural” nail services like Dazzle Dry mani-pedis and absolutely no gels, acrylics or dips. Hair color, smoothing and straightening is without harmful chemicals—no PPD, ammonia, sulfates, parabens or formaldehyde. The same is true for their skincare services. The 2-for-1 manicure promotion is a perfect introduction to Hustlestop and it’s novel approach to beauty.

Full Service Salon & Spa
Blondie Salon & Spa offers a full menu of hair and spa services to help look and feel your best every time of year--especially now, when we could all use a bit of a boost. From microneedling to combat signs of aging; to nano-infusion, targeting skin tone and texture; brow and lash services; waxing, and facials, it's a one-stop shop. Green Lady Dispensary
Family-Owned
There’s a new cannabis dispensary in Newton, and this one is a family affair. The Green Lady Dispensary, which also has a location on Nantucket, is located at 740 Beacon Street in Newton Centre —next door to Jake’s Falafel. The Campbell family has completely renovated the former location of Roche Brother’s Collision, transforming it into a light, airy, welcoming home for Green Lady Dispensary. As the newest cannabis business to open in Newton, product quality, community, and education are paramount to Green Lady. The Campbells purchase high quality products from small businesses, including family-owned, veteran-owned, and minority-owned suppliers. Their knowledgable team directs customers to the most suitable products—whether for insomnia, stress, pain, or recreation.
Kink Pilates
Welcoming Pilates Studio
New local reformer Pilates studio, Kink Pilates, has become so popular that it just expanded its luxury studio space, adding vertical tower Pilates classes to its list of class offerings.
While not technically in Newton, Kink is right down the road in next-door Waltham, and is such a welcoming environment and soul-cleansing experience that it’s worth crossing town lines. Kink is a reformer Pilates studio, using traditional machines, providing targeted workouts. With only six machines in the main room, classes are small and personalized. Classes in the new Pilates Tower annex are kept small, too, also with just six vertical reformers. Whether (like us) you’re brand new to Pilates or a seasoned pro, Kink’s no judgment studio helps you set and reach your fitness goals. And for those who prefer a private experience, there are individual reformer rooms for one-on-one lessons. Unlike other local Pilates studios, Kink’s Architectural Digest-worthy surroundings are awash with light, greenery, and lofty views, taking workouts to the next level. It has two promotions for new clients: 3 group classes for $79 or an $85 intro private session.
Cardio High
Extending Healthspans
For those looking for challenging, whole body exercise classes designed to strengthen bodies without wearing them down, exercise studio Cardio High in Auburndale may just be the right fit. Cardio High is the only studio we know of in Newton with a focus on extending clients’ “healthspans,” so we continue exercising injury-free in our 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, (and, hopefully, beyond). Their low impact classes integrate strength training, balance, core work, functional movement, and short bursts of cardio, delivering a healthy, whole body workout in under an hour. Classes are designed for all fitness levels, and the studio offers personal heart rate monitors to easily track one’s level of exertion, calories burned, and fitness progress over time. Try a class for free--it'll definitely be the "high" point of your day, and may be the key to staying fit Address: 271B Auburn Street.
Hair By Hanna
Uptown Hair; Neighborhood Prices
How has Hair by Hanna maintained a robust business for 25+ years? By delivering upscale hair services at neighborhood prices. The result? A steady stream of new and returning clients who walk out of the salon with high-end hair, and their wallets intact. For owner Hanna BenShabbat it all starts with healthy hair. She won’t push products or processes that are unnecessary or damage hair. Instead, Hanna helps clients reach their hair goals. Whether it’s going grey “naturally;” obtaining frizz-free, shiny hair using a protein smoothing system; getting an on-trend hair cut; or quickly covering grey roots before an event, Hanna does it all. She’s also a perm expert—offering clients curly, loose, or wavy beach hair. Even better? Hanna takes walk-ins, last minute appointments, and she works expertly and quickly. Hair by Hannah also carries in-demand products which you can’t find locally, including Controlled Chaos’ curl crème, of Shark Tank fame. Oh, and as a licensed beautician, Hanna provides skincare and will soon offer microblading. For July Hanna has a $120 color and cut special. Open 10-5 Mon-Thurs; 10-2 on Fri; and Sun by appointment.
