DEBATE NIGHT
USE CODE "DEBATE10"

On June 27, two Newton restaurants—Ninebark on the north side of the city and Dunn-Gaherin’s on the south side—will have TVs tuned to the debates on and are leading a city-wide effort to make debate night viewing less stressful for all. In the process, they’re supporting Welcome Home, donating 10% of Debate Night take-out and dine-in sales to this Newton-based, beloved charity, and encouraging other local businesses all over Newton to do the same. So with our support there will be some clear winners on Thursday night: the community-lifting Welcome Home, and the Newton small businesses we patronize.

Dunn-Gaherin's

Upper Falls

Dunn-Gaherin’s continually updates its comfort food menu with on-trend items. Here, traditional offerings like Fish & Chips and Sirloin Tips meet Poke Bowls and Sicilian Steak with Burrata and Pesto. A value-priced kid’s menu makes it A+ for familes. Add in a hopping bar, a huge, outdoor patio, cornhole, and a brand new patio-side trailer dishing out local Crescent Ridge ice cream, and it’s hard to imagine a better outdoor debate night destination.

Ninebark

West Newton

Just-opened Ninebark has a gastropub menu showcasing the diverse background of “American” cuisine. Fare like Blackened Fish Tacos, Crispy Wings with Cucumber Mango Buffalo Sauce, Empanadas, and Chicken Milanese are take-out friendly or can be enjoyed at the restaurant. The bar features 15 draught beers and creative cocktails that can be ordered to-go. Pizza and a separate kids’ menu make Ninebark a new family fave.

Welcome Home

Home Goods Pantry

Welcome Home is a Newton nonprofit on Dunstan Street in West Newton that distributes like-new donated household items to local families experiencing hardship.

Those in need of items fill out an online request, and then pick up their merchandise on a specified date. While at the pantry, they can also select decorative items for their homes. It's a great resource in Newton—not just for those who need a hand, but also for households cleaning out gently used items and restaurants who may be retiring dishware or glassware.
