The historic Allen Center is the heart of Newton’s arts community, hosting concerts, exhibits, workshops, markets, and more.

On Thursday May 29th, Newton Cultural Alliance hosts it’s annual Strawberry Festival bash, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. Monies raised from the Festival help fund the organization so it can continue to be a vital resource for supporting the arts in Newton.

The Festival kicks off at 6:30 PM at the Allen Center in West Newton and includes a menu of activities for party-goers. There are light-bites and adult beverages; live performances by renowned steel drum musician Justin Petty and members of the Highland Glee Club; a silent auction with items donated by West Newton businesses; the unveiling of the Allen Center’s new visual arts exhibit; a visual art auction; and a “Raise the Paddle” event to support local arts.
