We're so excited about this winning collaboration--our fingers are crossed that it's the first of many movie-and-a-meal events! Karate Kid: Legends opens this weekend, and to celebrate this blockbuster West Newton Cinema is teaming up with the new Lavender Cafe for its first ever movie-and-a-meal event! Lavender Cafe, owned and operated by two professional pastry chefs, has quickly become one of Newton's “it” spots for outstanding Venezuelan-inspired takeout at beyond reasonable prices. On May 31st its chefs are offering a Venezuelan sampler box that can be picked up and brought into the cinema to enjoy during the movie, for a family event sure to be deliciously fun.

Lavender Cafe just opened a few weeks ago in the former location of L'Aroma and it has quickly become Newton's "it" spot for Venezuelan-inspired breakfast and lunch at very reasonable prices. (Like their breakfast sandwich for just $5.50!) Owned and operated by two professional pastry chefs, Naisbel Azarak and Haylee Kulig have exploded on the high-end catering scene, landing some of the most prestigious clients in the greater Boston area. Now, the duo brings their creative menu to Newton--and it's just what we needed. Try it this Saturday for the Karate Kid lunch matinee. Order one of their Venzuelan tasting boxes and head to the cinema to enjoy lunch and a movie. How fun is that? The sampler boxes should be ordered in advance for pick up on May 31st between 10 AM- 2:45 PM. Each box is more than enough for a meal and contains: 1 Mini Reina Pepiada Arepa, 1 Mini Shredded Chicken and Cheese Arepa, 1 Chicken Cachito, 1 Guava and Cheese Cachito, 4 Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies
